My game is crashing every time I load.
It just goes back to windows without any error message.
the dates are 30 of october, november and december of 1795 in my AGCEEP game and I dont know in which dates It happened to me in the vainilla version with the fanatasy playing catalunya and in the GC playin castille.
its very anoying as I have to restart all my games again...
version 1.08 latest beta.

Ive reported this on the AGCEEP forum, but there is no solution with the suggestions there so I hope you can help me.

The suggestion I got there are:

1 Play with another country until the dates pass. I tried and didnt function, althou recently i started playing with afganistan and reach to 1796, the I loaded with purssia (as I was playing with prussia) and the game crashed.

2 Try to look if there is any big event happening, there isn´t any.

3 Didn´t understand one suggestion and there was no answear to my ignorance, so you may look for your selfs

Any suggestion?

thanks

I think it's stretching it to say 'every time'; there are a number of calculations the game does at the turn of the month, and there could easily be other bugs.

To find the rebel province, open up the Catalunya.eug save file in notepad, and search for '644'. In the province entry, remove the control = {...} line, add 644 to the controlledprovinces line of CHI, and remove 644 from the controlledprovinces line of REB.

(NB Countries start with:
country = {
tag = ???
)

If you want to determine if it's happening for the other saves, go to the controlledprovinces line of REB and check if any of those are TPs.

Great!!! It worked not only for the catalunyan game but for the milan and prussian AGCEEP games too, so Its clear now that the cuase of this bug was the rebels trying to defect in a TP... this must be repaired, maybe not allowing the rebels to control TPs...

Another fact that i found is that in both my games of AGCEEP the rebellious TPs were from SPAIN in the americas, viva la revolucion! :p

Well spotted wryun!
This is not only a mod problem. LAP, COL and BRZ in South America (start date 1750) are all tags in vanilla 1.08 19th nov beta that can cause crashes by revolting in TP:s. I don't think this was a problem before. Might it be that this fix from 5th September 2004 has created it?
- You can no longer release vassals that only consists of trading posts.

That's actually preventing crashes... it could have happened before, but its incidence has been increased by:

- New Capitals are now in logical positions whenever a country's capital is forcedly moved by new revolter nations.
- Revolters will now use their specified capital if possible.

I’d like to add that I too have had constant CTDs with saves caused by a rebel trying to setup shop in a TP and hope that some kind of fix is possible. Also I’d suggest maybe making a sticky on the Front page as I also have AGCEEP and figured the problem was related to the mod and spent hours digging through the save and the mod files to try and figure out what in the heck was going on.

I'll try and send the fix to Johan before Christmas. The problem is, there's quite a bit of other stuff, and I don't have proper version control set up... stupid MS thing won't interact with CVS and wants me to buy SourceSafe or whatever it's called (grumble).

Has this been recogniced as a bug yet? It's a serious one, since it cause CTD.

Yes. Was the post previous to yours unclear on that point in some way?

Have the same problem. Cant really see what is the cause, but a savegame saved in a "legal" way is not possible to load. I play Poland in the regular Age Of Exploration scenario. The problem occures form time to time, but up till now it was temporary - it disappeard after game restart. Now the savegame seems permanently damaged.

If it's the same problem, then you do know the cause - rebels trying to set up a TP as their capital.
