The game keeps crashing on my XP system. The game does not just crash, but my entire pc restarts. There is no fixed point in the game when this occurs. Sometimes it is on the menu page, sometimes it is a couple of days into a game (gametime), sometimes it is a couple of months.

My graphics card is NVIDIA GeForce FX5500 (256mb video memory).

It's a problem I've never encountered with a game before. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

riiiiiight:
  • Update to SP2 if you haven't already.
  • Update your drivers.
  • Update DirectX.
  • Make sure that you don't have any temperature problems with your hardware.

EDIT: Oh, and welcome to the forums. :)

Lol, thanks.

Forgot to mention in my original post that I've been through all the steps suggested by the sticky...

System on paper is up to it.
1GB DDR
Athlon processor (3400)

Game runs normally until the whole system crashes. It's not slow or choppy. Even when I save and exit the game normally, my entire system restarts itself.

Any other suggestions?

As always: please post your settings.txt, system.log, and run DXDIAg and post dxdiag.txt . Thx
