Crashing MP games I join

Whenever I try to join a multiplayer game the game of the host crashes. I have already reinstalled eu4 and the launcher and verified the files after reinstalling. I can host and nothing crashes and I can join some games without crashing them (around 1 in 10).

Technical Details:
OS: Windows 10 Home (Build: 19043)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GDDR6 6GB
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 4900HS

Are you using an ASUS machine perhaps? If so they come with an MP 'helper' app (whose name we do not mention in public) which causes this exact problem.

Yes I do. Should I just kill the task in the task manager or is it more complicated/impossible to get rid of

It is probably best if you uninstall the program. One of the other people who had this problem told me that the program caused weird problems with several other games as well.
