Crashing on save/load game

Just bought US ver 1.07c. Crashes to desktop every time I try to save or load(shows a saved game in menu even after crash).P3 600,GeforceDDR,vortex2 sound,Win98 and Dx8.I have not had any crash bugs in any other games in several YEARS!!
What gives??Its a ver 1.07 and should be pretty bug free

This has just started to happen to me too, I have played England and Saxony all the way through, without many crashes. Started a Russian game last night, and around 1580 it will crash every time I try to save/load.

Same problem here. US version. Cannot save at all, game crashes and leaves an empty file in place of saved game info. Dell Dimension xps 866r, GeForce 2, SBlaster Live, dx8.0. Latest drivers for all, including newest Bios flash.

Just to let you guys know,I solved this by reinstalling incl DX8 AND switching to play another scenario.I had to do both as The Northern War crashed even immediately after reinstall.But after getting another scenario going, the problem seems corrected thruout, even in The Northern War.

I found that I could save things in the Grand Campaign,
and, moreover, if I went back to the main menu after
a successful save in the GC, then I could also save
in the scenario where it was otherwise failing (Three
little mice, in my case).

No luck here!

Nope! My problem was with 'Revolution' and I tried everything here and cannot save in that scenario. I can save in 'enlightenment', so I'm playing that.

BTW directx 8.0a is out at the MS site. Tried that too!

Had the same problem in the Age of Revolutions scenario. Cannot save game at all. No problems in the other ones I've played. I'm playing the UK version.

Also same problem with Age of Revolution scenario. I get a crash everytime I try to save. I was playing Fantasia and wanted to start another scenario.

I also get a crash when checking diplomatic relations - when you right click and select a country it crashes. This also happened when I tried to do the same in another scenario.

Right now the only game I can play is the one I had started originally when I got the game - Fantasia.

Please help!!!!!!!!!!
I am addicted and need to play more!!!!!!!
