Having an issue with all 1.5 releases on steam, where it will crash to desktop in the loading screen and on the error reporter it wont let me send the error, saying the upload failed for some reason. Having a look at the rror.log file its says Failed converting statement for 'FilterablePropertyList.GetPropertiesLabel' before the log ends. Attached is my DXDIAG, error.log, debug.log and pdx_settings.json. Hopefully this helps as i would love to play on the latest version

I see you are running the game under Windows in Apple Bootcamp, rather than the native version in MacOS. Can I ask why that is?

That aside I see no real reason for this problem in those files.
Right click on victoria3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

If those don't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/pdx_settings.json .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

Thanks for getting back to me

I run in bootcamp as its the best way for me to play games, for this I got an egpu and the gpu I had at the time was nvidia and that wasnt supported natively in macOS. Also I dont seem to have a file called exceptions in that file path, could you mean debug instead? I'll attach it in case thats helpful.

I think the exceptions.log file is now inside the crashes subfolder. Each crash has it's own folder (with the time stamp in the folder name) with all the data collected from the crash.

Your Mac has a Radeon Pro 560X , which looks like it should run the game natively under MacOS - have you tried that?

However back to Windows; its AMD video driver there is from 2022, best to update it to 2024

And you may be a little short of free memory, unload every other app you can before starting teh game.

If those don't help, what fps do you see in the game before it crashes? Anything over 60?

And, in those cash folders are there .DMP files? If so, we may need to point you over to Bug Reports to get the developers to look into those.

There is a Minidump.dmp file in the crash.

i dont get very far into the game before it crashes, somewhere between 10-30 secs after clicking start game, so my fps counter didnt get a chance to get a good reading, but it did flash 9 before it stopped.

the latest driver for my mac's gpu is from 22, as apple has done some trickery to slow down graphics updates, and im not really willing to go down the bootcampdrivers route when i mostly game and use my 4070. Tbh i havent really used macOS since i left college in 22, i just use this machine to game and it has served me well, except for late game performance in all pdx titles lol

Sorry I wasn't clear - I can't read dump files! Only the developers can.

To get that to happen you'd need to post a new thread in Bug Reports here and attach that .dmp file there, plus you may as well attach those other files from above too, and a link to this thread.

Hopefully they can at least tell if this is a game, Windows, driver, or hardware issue from it.

Good luck!
