Repeated crashing after I hit play on the launcher.

Game Version
1.5.12

What OS are you playing on?
Windows

Do you have mods enabled?
No

Have you tried verifying your game files?
Yes

How much "pain" is this causing you?
10

Please explain the issue you experienced in the most condensed way possible
I open the Victoria 3 app and click play on the launcher. It then "loads" for around 30 seconds and then crashes sending me back to my desktop.

Please explain how to reproduce the issue
Hit play on the launcher

Is there anything else you think could help us identify/replicate the issue?
No but when the game first came out I was able to run it fine. I deleted it a while ago and I recently installed it and now it is doing this.

I have attached a save game
No, because I can't even get into the game.

Right click on victoria3.exe , properties, compatibility. Tick "disable fullScreen optimisations" untick every other box in that dialog, Apply and exit.
Then in the launcher Game Settings menu, select fullScreen display mode, Vsync off, cap refresh rate at 60.

If those don't help:
DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

Please attach here your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/pdx_settings.json .
From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria3/logs/ folder, attach here system.log , error.log , exceptions.log

Weird how dxdiag cannot see your CPU type but system.log can ... if you run it again do you still see that?

Is this perhaps an ASUS or MSI system board and bios?

Did you cap refresh rate to 60? I don't see that set in that .json file.

What happens if you run victoria3.exe directly from File Explorer? Any error show?

It is a ASUS mother board and bios, I looked at the settings for the 60 cap and it must not have stuck I i re did it ( crashed after 1 min)
I tried to run it from the file explorer and it crashed immediately, gave me a -Did this program work correctly-, I said no and it took me to a trouble shooting option, then proceed to try to run the game agian and it crashed. Nothing after that.

Aha! Then you almost certainly have the CPU/bios/AVX2 issue discussed here:

See if those steps help you.

Good luck!

Your system fits the profile of that problem. Are you having some trouble following the stuff in there? Because it really should help you like it did those others there.
