crashing problem

HOI2 has been crashing on me alot lately.its even worse because it crashes when i try to save(the save file is corrupted) and brings me to my desktop.when i first got the game ,when it came out, i didnt really have any problem;it crashed rarely enough for it to be acceptable,and when it did it wasnt when i tried to save a game.but now it seems like about every 5-10 times i try to save a game it crashes which has obviously been a big problem .i downloaded the newest patch to see if it would fix it but it still contiues to crash.does anyone know what the problem could be?

Does it crash with a new game started under 1.1 or are you playing the same gams still that you started under 1.0?

actually,come to think of it,i dont think i've started a new game since i got the patch a couple of days ago.i'll start a new game today and see if the problem continues.

ok,that seems to have been the problem.i started a new game as germany and i have saved a number of times and played for a number of hours and i havent had any problems.thanks for the help
