I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but as it is while playing an EEP game that I crash, I figured it was the most appropriate option.

It seems that one of my games must be corrupted, as I crash to desktop at December 30 1485. I am playing France, and no amount of messing with old saves stops this. Is there any known solution? :)

There is one EEP event for Tyrol around that date. Could you try and manually trigger it some days before you crash, nbr 322008?
(Type 'event 322008' in the chat window.) Dont think this is the problem, but it's a start. I don't really know of a good way to find the cause of such things, unless it is an event messing up.

Hm... Have you had any tag-changing events in that game? Like Castile->Spain, Moscow->Russia?

I've seen some who suspect this to, on occations, lead to cities saved double for one province. When this province change hands you will get a crash. Were there any wars ending or provinces ceded around that time?

I too am experiencing a CTD every time I want to load my current save. I also tried the autosave and oldautosave, and the same thing happened.
I am playing England in the 1520GC, and I use the latest Beta Patch and the latest EEP...

Now, how could I find out whether any cities were saved twice?

My 1st message in this forum :D

I was experiencing CTD in exactaly the same date as Abrejak (december 30 1485), using the same version of EEP (1.4.1) and EU2 (1.07 no beta). I'm playing with Portugal in the 1419 campaign.

I'm using autosave yearly, and when i loaded it, i got an error message saying scenario files had error. I chose "Ignore" and the game loaded in january 1 1486 (one day after the crash, in fact the crash occours when passing from 1485 to 1486). The game continued normally until january 30, when it CTD again (or, more precisely, when passing from january 30 to february 1). I saved a game on january 1486. When i load it, the same error message appears, and if i choose to ignore (to run the game), it CTD in jan 30/feb 1. Maybe the problem is in these days?

How do i get the chat window so i can test the Tyrol event? And for the name-changing, both Castile turned into Spain and Moscow turned into Russia. Spain is at peace, not even rebels, but Russia is at war with Lithuania.

Press "F12" to get console window.

I have been getting crashes as well. I'm playing a normal GC as Austria (1.4.1, EU2 1.07, no betas), it's 1477. They've happened in different dates (one in January, another in July, the other in September), and it seems that a window pops up right before it crashes, but it's too fast for me to read.

Castille has just turned into Spain (although it hadn't in the January crash), no other major changes (Burgundy was losing a war badly against Hessen and other German minors), I was at peace.

Oh yeah, Win2k SP3, DX9.0b, no music.

A small bumpity bump, and a question:

Should I...

(a) wait for a reply here, since it's probably event-related?

(b) install the latest beta, since it solves a lot of CTDs and doesn't seriously hamper EEP?

(c) wait for 1.4.2, which will be more stable?

(d) all of the above.

(e) none of the above. Specify.

Thanks in advance.

play on the slowest speed and see if you can get past it, or if you can see which event might trigger the CtD.

Alternatively play that year as Nippon (or another far away country) It sometimes helps.

a) It could be event related, but I played past this year without troubles as Austria
b) EEP works perfectly well with the betas.
c) 1.4.2 probably has less bugs, but is also unknown when it will be out. playing 1.4.1 should be just fine.

I'm having the same problem as Improfane. I've never had any major problem with the EEP. But recently I updated from EEP 1.4 to EEP 1.4.1. I'm playing 1.07 beta btw. A few days ago I started a 1520 campaign as England. I could start and play the campaign just fine. I also saved it and could reload it once succesfully. But the second time I saved my game and tried to load it - it was the year 1840 ten - the game loaded succesfully until 95% of the green bar is filled, then stalled and a few seconds later crashed to the desktop. As that file seemed corrupted somehow, yesterday I started a new 1520 campaign as England and played until 1527. Just a few minutes ago I tried to load that save file and I'm having the same problem. The game crashes...

Does anyone have a clue what could be going on? :(
