If you reload saves too many times during one game launch, you'll eventually get frozen while loading the save. Requiring me to hit ctrl-alt-delete to close the process in the control panel.

Have you read the "known problems" thread in Tech Support? There is a known cause of this.
Err... haven't marked anyone as interesting. And the save is totally fine, in this case I imagine I could not load it anymore.
Mine just freezes eventually if I keep even loading same savefile over and over. Something stuck into the memory or so?
I have tried to load same savefile 20 times in a row (Yes I was actually counting). Could not reproduce. My theory is that your save is broken somehow, so could you please attach it?
Maybe no the same one but a different one? Kinda "load, let a day pass, save, load again..."
I have the same issue but I doubt it's related to particular saves. For me it always happens when I play for few hours and then load a save.
