Crashing

I reenstalled EU2 on my computer yesterday. I took it off a few month ago. I never had problems playing befor. Now it will start up but after picking a country and hitting play windows closes down. I tried uninstalling and re downloading it, i updated my windows and down loaded the 1.09 patch. I have the latest version of directx but i am unsure of what video and sound card i have. I have an hp ze4200 with windows xp.
P.S. I have also run ad aware pro scan and virus scan. I read a comment to re name the avi folder but i dont know where to find it

The AVI folder is a sub-folder of the Which ever folder you installed EU2 in.
Usually something like C:/Program Files/Paradox Entertainment/EU2/
Or if you have a different publisher version there name may take the place of Paradox.
Check your CD for their logo.

But I suspect you need to update your video driver.
Please run a DirectX Diagnostic:
Start menu –Run - then type Dxdiag, then select each tab across the top of the window, and run the tests on each tab. Then select “Save All Information” button in the lower right of the window. This will bring up a dialog box to allow you to select a name for the file where the information will be saved. You can save it right on the desktop as this will make it easy to find. Then copy the contents of that file from the start to the heading that says “DirectX components” then paste what you have copied into a post in this thread.
