I'm trying to install Crusader Kings that I downloaded from the online store and had burned to CD, as the install location is different from the download location. I installed it successfully and patched it up to the most recent beta. Unfortunately, I then had to reformat my harddrive for an unrelated issue. Now, when I go to install it, I copy it from the CD onto a harddrive setup almost exactly in the same way it was before, however during the extraction process of the files (as well as during the install process on a previous attempt) I get an error message telling me the CRC Check has failed and it crashes out of the installer, this is usually during the language named executables and not the Cab files.
Are there any other things I should check prior to trying to download it again and recopying it? I just can't figure out why it worked before but is not working now. I'm forced to use my work internet connection to download, so I'm trying to avoid doing that if possible.
My apologies if this is not the correct forum for this questions, my specs are:
P3 450
40 GB HD
512 MB RAM
20x CD
Win 98SE
DX 9.00
SB Audigy LS
ATI RAEDON 7K
Oh, one other concern, I had had some RAM issues (bad RAM causing strange faults) which I repaired after the reformat. However, I did have on aborted install on the current configuration, could this be causing the issue, and if so, how would I go about addressing that so I'm truly installing from scratch?
Thanks,
KB
