Moved from the general discussion to here,
I've been looking around the game files a bit and for my first mod I decided that I wanted to create a custom trait. I found this easily enough as I only had to add the trait to the correct file and then append the localisation file but I noticed that we're pretty limited in the amount of modifiers we can use. I tried to add a bunch of interesting effects like an automatic +5 to energy or influence but couldn't get anything I tried to work. Looking around some of the other files I found that the modifiers we can give to things is separated into a bunch of different categories (like production modifiers for something like buildings) and think that either all of these categories should be opened up for trait modding or just expand the normal modifier field to include all effects of the other ones.
Otherwise does anyone know anyway to add a flat amount of say energy to a trait?
In other suggestions I also think that we need a normal game difficulty for the static modifier file for those of us who like dynamic effects.
