Since the update and buying the dlc, I have an issue where some prisoners are arriving as CI but are minimum security or medium with no option to change them to CI standing. I have built an insane section to the prison as well as min / med and only accept those types of prisoners.

But I seem to have some prisoners arriving that have "no cell for this prisoner" type as a message but they are assigned as min / med status, not CI status and you cannot change it, you can only increase them to max / super etc.

Other prisoners seem to have the insane bar and are wearing white and live in the insane section quite fine. But the ones on arrival are bugged.

Am I missing something?

I'm having the same issue with min-sec having the criminally insane rep yet not being assigned as Criminally Insane prisoners. I was able to manually assigned them a cell in the insane section of my prison though and they seem to function fine moving around the insane only areas.

This also occurs ONLY in the base game and without the dlc you can't assign these CI prisoners.

FIX (temp): CI prisoners can be permantently punished to solitary to fix the issue. Isn't great and large prisons will have to build permanent solitary but its a work around for now.

Hi! I've observed this too. I've just fixed it by going into the save file (ensure you're not saving to the cloud and it will be in AppData\Local\Introversion\Prison Architect\saves). Open the PRISON file in notepad and search for your prisoner by name. Above the Bio section you'll find a property called "Category". You'll see it's currently set to whatever security rating your affected prisoner has (mine was "Protected", as you'll see in my attached screenshot). Change that to "Insane". Now save the PRISON file and reload your game. Should be fixed.

N.b. I've only just done this myself, so will have to see if there's anything I've missed, but my prisoner is now wearing the correct clothes and he's in the correct cell! :)

You'll see various other properties in there that confirm their insane status already, such as the 'RequiredCellType" being "PaddedCell".
