Critical Error with AoD, EUIII and HOI2:DDA

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone else has come across this problem, and hopefully has a solution?

Everything was working fine and then suddenly I have had this error which prevents the games from running. I noticed it with AoD first, then when I tried the others I got the exact same error message (below). If I hit any of the options the game crashes with a runtime error.

Problems with the Graphics subsystem - either something is wrog with your VGA card or you try to run these games in windowed mode without switching screen resolution to 16Bit Colors first.

Thanks. I suspect the VGA card solution will be beyond me.
