1939 i started in 33 ---- ERROR (illegal model 1 for Infantry

Did you start a game prior to Revision 1.1 of IC? If you did then that could be the reason. Revision 1.1 you cant play any saved games before the hotfix, thus you would have to start a new game from scratch.

Is possible that you installed a incorrect version game?

Please, install again and select iron cross - aod, if you have aod

I think that you have AoD, and with the error text I can suppose that you have a wrong installation
