A CoT doesn't indicate a trading power, but a 'place' controlling the trade of the environs. Venice and Genoa were controlling the trade of the north-eastern med, hence the reason why they have CoTs to start with. The OE got the option to have a CoT in Thrace to represent the closing of the straits towards the Black Sea. Alexandria represents the trade going on in that region, wich was a major trading center for eastern spices and silks.
All italian cities were trading powers, but they don't have a CoT.

the position of dubrovnik. in early medieval times dubrovnik had a monopoly on trade routes into the western balkans, specificaly bosnia. this had put the foundations of its antagonism against venice. after the ottomans occupied the region dubrovnik came under their protection. and dubrovnik had exclusive rights to trade with ottoman empire in western balkans. thats why venetians hated them, but could not do anything against them since dubrovnik was neutral and under protection of both OE and the Pope(it was a base of operations in the balkans with many monasteries, but that is another story)

so, it is a historic fact that trade from adriatic to western balkans had to go through dubrovnik. not venice.

as for monarchs.cro, i'll do it soon

Now, that's a valid reason. Especially now that Venice has been crushed by Genoa.

But whatever, I've checked, and there's already a CoT in Ragusa. And one in Thrace. So much for the "no CoT in the Balkans region", isn't it ? :p

This is Aberration forum. If you want to add things in it for Croatia, you'd better play it to see how it looks like. ;)

How's that ? Do you manage to download other mods (like AGCEEP, MES or IES) ?

or if you're not into amazons make up the monarchs between 1704 and 1820

My take on it.

These monarchs should be included in the next release, lawkeeper, are you preparing it?

Yes, I'll be compiling all changes. Perhaps we should start a thread dedicated to compile all changes (much like the Submission thread of AGCEEP - yes, true plagiarism on this :D ).

IMO this late into aberration monarchs could very well be completely fictional - viceroys might be good for elected monarchs but for hereditary monarchs you should perhaps find/invent a real family with descendants?

Why not give an event to Croatia in 1704 ? The end of the dynasty proves to be a period of troubles, and after a few years of civil war (a Civil War or Anarchy monarch, stab-hits and RR/revolts), another event will give rise to either a new dynasty (with DPs moving towards CENTRALIZATION) or an elected Kingdom (DPs moving towards decentralization and aristocracy.
Make the elected kingdom historical choice, and you may prepare events to elect each king later (to give a choice between two or more kings).

Comments ?

Well, the parliament played an important part in Croatias' history, and pretty much all viceroys were rather important nobles of croatian or hungarian origin. If Croatia had become a republic at that point while maintaining the social structure, they would have been the most influential politicians. So, how bout Croatia settles into a republic between 1704-1714(naturaly, not one like the french, because it would be too early for such a social structure and level of emancipation, but neither like the polish situation where nation dissolves into feudal anarchy).

With the kings extinct, the nation turns into Dubrovniks' model of governance. A republic lead by the aristocracy.

I wouldn't do too many events for a minor country for last century of the game. Going deterministically for either elected kings with viceroys or fantasy hereditary family would be best imo.

Someone has to write those events anyway and someone else has to make sure they are balanced and nice...
