Crusade can't end

Not 100% sure of the conditions leading up to this but what I think is as follows.

Pope calls Crusade
Christians (including me) declare war on crusade target with crusade CB
Non-crusader annexes crusade target
"Crusade ends indecisively" triggered automatically
Game still considers crusade to be active - it is not completed - because land was not taken from the target by crusaders (but also no longer belongs to target)
Penalties to rulers for not being in the crusade
No further crusades
Crusade cannot end

But the game is great!

Save available if required / desired.

I'm guessing the new owner of the crusade target isn't Christian? If that's the case, then while the active crusading wars were terminated, nothing stops you from simply declaring war on the new owner.

Remember, the target of a crusade isn't the owner, it's the province.

The new target of the Crusade isn't Christian, that's correct. However the Crusade says - take province x from y - where y is no longer the owner. So I think the crusade is owner and province.

I don't think I have crusade CB against the new ruler (only holy war). The new owner is also more powerful than the old one.

I can confirm the actual words for x and y when I get home from work. In many many hours <sob>
