Hello. I just bought Crusader Kings 2 today. It crashes during the start up loading, when it tries to load Flags. It then crashes back to desktop, closing the program entirely. I have done a full uninstall, manually deleting all files left over, including those in the documents folder, I verified after. I have updated my graphics card, and made sure all other drivers were up to date. I made an exception in my anti-virus for the program. I have also done what the other threads say to try and do, and updated the windows modules.

I honestly don't know what to try next, so any help would be appreciated.

In Documents Paradox CK2 gfx flags folder, there should be two .txt files and 3 or more .tga files, are they there?

If not something is stopping the game making those files there, usually an antivirus app. Depending on what it is you may need to add the folder as a permtted place to write.

There are only two text files, no tga files there. I added an exception to that folder as well. I use AVAST as my anti-virus. After making the exception to that folder, I still got the crash.

I had the exact same problem. I made exeptions for the folders and the .exe (in "cyber capture" and "hardened mode") and still did´nt work. Then i disabled avast deleted the flag folder and the game loaded. Now i can switch avast back on and load the game.

Hope it helps
