Crusader Kings 2 keeps crashing on start up

I just bought crusader kings 2 off steam, and it installed fine. After i click start ckII on the launcher, i hear a little bit of music and a new window comes up saying CK2 has
stopped working and windows is looking for a solution, and it doesn't find a solution. I don't know what to do PLEASE HELP ME !!! i'm dying to play :sad::sad:

Have you read the "Known Issues" Sticky thread above? If your issue is definitely not covered there, please post your dxdiag.txt (from top down to include "sound devices" only please), settings.txt, system.log and error.log files (you'll need to rename the .log files to .txt to upload). Also open setup.log, search for "checksum", and paste that line only in here.

I read the know issues and tried all of them but none of them worked, I also tried reinstalling the game one more time but it still wont work. For the settings.txt, i can't find that file in crusader kings file in documents folder or on the computer. The error.log and setup.log are empty

I'm afraid your video card cannot run the game, it requires 512mb of video memory and pixelshader 3.0 support. I mean, you can try updating your video driver as it's very old, but I frankly doubt it will help.

Your only real options are to ask Steam for your money back, only play it on a more capable machine, or buy a new machine.

I have a macbook pro i bought last year, which I think definetly would be able to handle this game, would it work on mac or not?

Developers stated that they are working on a mac version and when its released those that bought CKII from Steam will be able to download it from Steam. Steam offers many games with mac and windows versions and CKII is said to be like that. There is people on this forum who play the game on mac machines so its totally possible that it will work on it.
