I noticed that my checksum is not XJSG but JYCJ. I also have the "flickering" bug when i want to upgrade or build Tradeposts.
I'm running the game trough Steam, on Windows 8 64 bit.
Do i need to do something to fix the checksum?
tnx

Try this. Right click on Crusader Kings II on Steam's Library page chose properties -> local files -> verify integrity of game cache. Steam will check the files and redownload those that aren't correct. This should take some time so if it claims to be finished in few seconds do it again. Then check the checksum if its correct.

If this doesn't help you have to reinstall the whole game. Uninstall the game and manually delete the main game folder and Crusader Kings II folder in my documents -> paradox interactive. If you want to keep your save games remember to move them from the Crusader Kings II folder in my documents before you delete it. Then reinstall the game.

tnx for the reply.
I did all of the above, and eventually reinstalled. Still got the JYCJ checksum on the main screen.
The game runs properly, besides the flickering trade post bug. I'll wait and see if there come a patch for this problem.

Only the last one the patch includes all files from the previous ones. Remember to delete the main game folder and Crusader Kings II folder in my documents -> paradox interactive. So there is no extra files left behind. Just remember to move your saves to somewhere else from the Crusader Kings II folder in my documents if you want to keep them.

i have the same problem expect my checksum is AIFV. i had this problem before but i figured it would solve itself with the update and it hasn't. i have all dlcs except sunset invasion.

Ok, it worked, but as soon as I copy the folders of savegames and mods back to the "my documents/crusader kings II" folder the checksum is wrong again... Should I copy those things elsewhere instead?

Thanks for your help, by the way!

If the mod files are overwriting the game's own files, that's wrong. They are supposed to go in their own subdirectories.

Note that the official checksum is only expected when you load the game with no mods active. With mods loading it should change.

Yep, loading it with no mods and not getting the expected checksum...

When the game is installed, there is no subdirectories for mod or savegames in the "my documents/crusader kings II" folder at all. A copy them in (creating the subdirectories) and the game recognizes the mods and the savegames, but with different checksum... I must be doing something wrong...

Just making sure;

you deinstalled the game.
you verified that the install folder is now completely empty.
you reinstalled the game (through steam?), and the checksum is now not XJSG?

Any folders in my documents should not affect the checksum, unless you run a mod FROM there, (or unless you install in my documents)

I have the gamersgate version. I did all those steps and got the XJSG checksum, but when I copy the savegames and the mods subfolders to my docmuunets, it changes the checksum...

could you zip up the folder(s) that you are copying there, if it's not too big, or alternatively attach a screenshot of how the copy to my documents looks (ie. a directory tree)
