I bought this notebook recently and installed Crusader Kings on it. I figured that it would work since this computer fulfills the system requirements. However, when I run the game and the video starts running (the one with Paradox logo) and I press Esc, the game crashes. It reports of a fatal error and that the video can't be played and doesn't even load to the main screen.

So is there a way to play this game on this laptop? Can I somehow skip the intro and load directly into the game or is there some fix for this? Has anyone ever run Crusader Kings/Deus Vult on a notebook PC?

I renamed the avi folder, but it still gave the error "can't play video file". Then came the fatal error: "*** Unhandled exception detected!

Address: 0x7C90120E

Please report!"

And from the log file: "
######## EXCEPTION: 0x80000003 at address: 0x7C90120E: BREAKPOINT
09/19/09 21:22:39"

My bad. :D

I read it, thought that the problem is with avi folder, renamed it, thought it worked, got a crash, posted here and then read again. Then it hit me that it might be the resolution.

Works now, thanks. :)
