Hi, i was playing with Burgundy and had no problems.
Then i started with Ottomans, played well until 1513 when it CTD. Ok, i saved two years before, load game, after two years CTD again. I tried several times but no progress.
Ok, let's play some other country. I tried France, CTD again in 1513.
I've reinstalled game but same thing happened.

EU2, v1.07 on W2K with SP3
No changes made to scenarios, events or AI

If the CtD happens every time, and every time on or around the same date, then it's a safe bet that this is tied to some historical event. What remains is to figure out which historical event.

First of all, does the CtD happen on the same date each and every time (if it does, it narrows the search for the culprid event)?

It happens from 6/1513 to 2/1514 as far as i have tested. What can i do about that? Is it possible that problem is in some other country?

Try playing that saved game as Nippon (Japan) or Korea until you are past the problem date, then swapping back.

Another test is to play your game in someone else's machine, if you know anyone else with the game. If their machine is different to yours (eg different video vard) and the problem doesn't happen there, it is definitely a problem on your machine.

Which Scenario are you playing?

Turn auto save on to yearly. Then you might get a save that has a reaptable CTD shortly after loading.

This is a list of top things to do to avoid random crashes:
1) Rename the AVI folder to AVI_back.
2) Set color depth to 16BIT.
3) Turn off all programs running in the back ground, like virus protection, ICQ/Messager ...

I'm having a similar problem circa 1566 playing as Navarra.

I attempted everything mentioned in this thread, short of trying it on another machine (no one else around here has the game).

any other ideas, or is it just a lost hope?

What patch level do you have installed?
