After I purchased Crusader Kings II, I installed the game on my tower and on my laptop. Although the install on the laptop works fine, my tower fails to run the game. Although it starts up and proceeds through nearly the entirety of the loading phases, it crashes on the second "Loading Graphics" section, following the loading of the various map components. Here's the DxDiag file from my tower.

I've already tried a clean reinstall, verification of the file cache through Steam, ect. Nothing has worked.

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

I think the game requires a refresh rate of 50hz or higher. Do you have a standard PC monitor rather than a TV to try?

I've got a monitor, but I've not been able to get it to work correctly with my video card. Adapting from VGA to DVI hasn't worked and I have no other monitors about nearly as new as that one, save for this HDMI TV.

EDIT: Tried upping the TV's refresh rate to 60hz & 59hz. No effect.

Can you try using a VGA cable instead of an HDMI one please.

And, now you've upped the refresh rate, lease post a new dxdiag.txt (you can delete everything after the "Sound devices" section for brevity), settings.txt, system.log and error.log files (you'll need to rename the .log files to .txt to upload). Also open setup.log, search for "checksum", and paste that line only in here.

Alright, I resolved the issue. I managed to get my other monitor hooked up and working and set it as the primary display and the game loaded with no issue, as you suggested.

My apologies for the difficulties.

That's OK, not your fault - the game should not have this issue at all.
