CTD on redrawing the borders of Europe event

Hello, playing DD 1.3a with DAIM as Soviet Union. It is the first game I go so far so I didn't know the event of liberation of Europe existed and I just liberated from the Germans manually every country I occupied. Then at some point the event of "Germany surrenders" hits, the effects of which I guess is redrawing the borders of Europe and automatically liberating all the nations I had manually liberated. There, on accepting the event I got a CTD. Is it possible that it happened because I had already liberated the relevant countries manually in advance?

That's possible, yes. Note that this is a standard event and not related to DAIM though.

In fact, Spocky and I despise most (if not all) surrender events in HoI as they strongly tend not to work as they should.
