Everytime I start the game after a reboot I get a CTD a few secconds after the intro is skipped. Seccond start it always work. Also the status bar seem to skip past the first part really fast the seccond time.

I tried to rename the avi folder to skip the intro but no improvement. I have the sound turned off as well.

Running the PAN version of the game with patch 1.03. Didnt have this behaviour with 1.02.

Its not high priority as it always work the seccond time, but anoying all the same.
 
not since 1.03 came out. had a complete remove reinstall where I removed all modded files before reinstalling and patching.

Feel free to move thread to support it seems most CTD is there anyways.

Can you post your system specs?

Start => Run => dxdiag + enter
Click save all information and then either mail me the txt file or paste the contents here. Please refer to this thread if you are mailing it :)

When you say that you're skipping the intro, do you mean that you've renamed the avi folder or are you just espcaping to skip it? If it's the latter, try renaming the avi folder to avi_old and then start the game to see if you get the same problem.

Edit: just re-read your post...doh! I'm an idiot!

Okay...did you notice any change at all in what happens when you did the rename? It almost sounds as though something isn't being set correctly (or quickly enough) in a DX call. Even if you e-mail your system specs to Patric, could you also most them here - as well as any possible solution Patric might come up with - so we'll know for future.

Looking trough the details I note that some drivers seem a bit old I'll have a look for newer ones.
Its my Gfs comp so I havent had time to check them out erlier, she has a much faster comp than I have :D (she made me write that)

A to do list for you... :)

1 - Update to at least DirectX 8.1 (there are some known issues w/ 8.0)

2 - Update that sound driver

3 - Update that video driver - particularly important as the one she has right now is not certified so no effort has been made to test it and bring it up to spec.

My guess is that doing all three of the above will eliminate the problem. Let us know how it goes.

It is also a minimum requirement for the game. :)
 
yup but during install it states that your direct x version is compatible....

Anyway I tried upgrading to direct x 9.0 last night with no improvement.

Could not download matrox or soundblaster drivers from home as the firewall block ftp to those machines, will download them now at work and will install them when I get back home.
 
Okay let us know how that goes.
 
There was no new driver for the soundcard only plenty of irate creativelabs customers.

Upgraded the matrox drivers and that solved the problem.
Seems it works fine with the Driver Version: 4.12.0001.2120
