Ok so I've had the game installed for months now and then one day this problem occured. It would load, into the load screen, and just as it's finished loading when the main menu loads up it crashes to the desktop. Never had this issue before. So i uninstalled it, cleared the registery and everything related to eu2, reinstalled, it was working fine. Now suddenly a week later the same problem magically came back for no reason. Nothing was changed, why would this happen?

I'm running a 3ghz p4 w/ hyperthreading 800fsb 512K ram, 128 ATI RADEON 9800, 120GIG SATA HDD, Sound Blaster Audigy 2.
I updated my RADEON drivers and that same day i had the problems with the EU2 CTD, then i reinstalled and it was fine for a week, now the problem is back. Is it possible there is an issue with eu2 and the new radeon drivers? Only thing that has changed, ironic if i say so too.

Have you renamed the AVI folder to something else?

Installing new drivers for your card will reset parameters that you may have changed such as refresh rate...

But as Andrew Suggests, first thing to try is always to rename your AVI folder to AVI_back, since the bink player is known to cause some problems.
