CTD when launching the game

Description​

The game doesn't launch anymore : it crashes during the loading screen, sometimes the main menu. I have checked the integrity three or four times, uninstalled and reinstalled it twice... I even tried to rollback to the previous version (1.7.4) : Didn't help.

Steps to reproduce​

Launch the game on steam - click "continue" or play on the launcher, it doesn't change anything - wait - crash - cry.

Hi! Could you please upload the contents of the folder under "Documents/Paradox Interactive/Victoria 3/crashes" as well as your DxDiag txt file (Windows Start Menu -> DxDiag -> Save all information)? Thanks!

Still not working after the Hotfix 1.7.6 update. I also have the same problem with Crusader Kings 3.

Europa Universalis IV and Heart of Iron IV are working.

Can I at least hope an answer, even "Sorry, we don't understand" ? Or should I just uninstall the two games and never buy a Paradox game again because I can't be sure it will work ?

Hi! Apologies for the long response time. Please try to expand your paging file size to 32GB and restart the PC - 8GB available virtual memory might not be enough to run CK3 and Victoria 3 games on an older hardware https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/openpag...increasing-paging-file-size-windows-computers.

Since the CPU is very old and barely within minimum requirements, you might have to do more tweaks, so we'll move the thread to our Technical Support as they might be able to offer more help with hardware-specific issues.

Yes, please expand your Windows Paging file as mentioned above, and unload every other app you can before starting the game.

And update that Nvidia driver to August 2024

Expand the Windows Paging file worked ! Both of the games are running. Thanks
