It's pretty much that simple. When I quit (Surrender) my campaign, after a save, I CTD at the "weeping Frenchman" screen, before I click on the quit button. This does not happen when quitting a senario, whether I save or not. Any Ideas? Thanks.

BTW, FYI & I guess OT, I refer to the quit screen above in that way because I'm pretty sure that photo is from the day that the Whermacht marched into Paris. I used to watch a ton of WWII documentaries, and there is famous footage shot of this man that always seems associated with this event

Have you renamed your AVI folder to AVI_back?
Try that.

Yes, no effect. The videos run fine. I'm using 1.3a and hotfix.

Have you fully updated your Windows, are you running XP?

My bet is some version of Windows 9.x. ;) This particular problem is very common on that windows platform. Even have it myself. But, since the game is closing down anyway, it's a minor issue at best.

If you renamed your AVI folder you should not have any Videos playing.

That's correct. No videos played, the game still crashes as above. Videos played fine before though, and still do, after reverting the AVI file.

My guess is that it has something to do with the save games. I tried the fan-made patch to change resolutions for my laptop, and when this resulted in the loss of the farthest out zoom setting on the global map, and reversing didn't work, I reinstalled and accidentally wiped out all my saved games. A file recovery program got some of them back, but not all in good working order, before that the crash was infrequent. That's just a guess, though.

Windows XP, SP 2. Windows update runs regularly. Direct X 9.0c.

Ya we do not support user mods or edits, my advice is to wipe the game and mods from your system and do a fresh install, you can get manual uninstall instructions in the sticky thread on the subject.

And renaming the AVI folder has nothing to do with solving problems with the opening movies. ;)
It has to do with it the Bink player not unloading itself from memory properly and causing random problems in game, such as the problem you described.
