After a few weeks away from EU2 i decided to install and play it again. After installing it I downloaded the 1.07 patch, installed it started up the game, everything worked alright, but then when I tried to start a new campaign the game crashed out too the desctop, even before the loading screen showed up, no error message or anything. Tried it again several thimes, the same thing happend everytime.
So I uninstalled the game, made shure I had everything that could be updated (drivers, windows updates and so on) updated and installed the game again.
Started it, started up a new campaign and this time it worked. Only that this time I hade forgott to install the 1.07 patch, i was running the 1.0 version of the game. And right after I installed the patch again the same problem is back, so I suppose this is related to the 1.07 patch somehow.
I run windows XP and have the scandinavian version of the game (and the scandinivian patch of course). You can check my dxdiag if you want more info about my computer:

However, Ive seen several people with problems quite like this on this forum so I suppose I could be a quite common bug with the 1.07 patch and not really a problem with my computer. 1.06 and earlier has always worked fine with me. Please help, and I also could use an url the 1.06 patch until I get the 1.07 to work, I doesnt have it on my harddrive anymore, and I tried searching for it both with google and here on the forum, but without any luck.

try renaming you avi folder to av

XP and the binkplayer used to the intro with is not the best of friends

Thanks kurtbrian!

Don't know if that helped Jalltar Jeff, but it solved the CTD that just started appearing for me after I installed the latest XP SPs and some other software.

renaming the avi folder solved it all for me. Before I could only play 1.07 on any EU2 setting when my desktop was set to 800x600.

Bink is notorious for this problem.
