I have been bouncing around your forum looking for support.

First, in order to install the patch I had to go into my registry and change the path of HOI.exe (I suggest letting us put the game where we want it.)

Second, I have renamed my AVI to AVI.old and this still didn't help the crash. I have looked at your suggestions of diabling my sound card and not having music while I play the game. (BTW, it didn't work either) Doesn't sound like a great alternative. I have downloaded all of the latest patches for the game (1.03b), XP, Direct X 9.0a, Nvidia 4.3.4.5. None of these fixed the problem with hitting the diplomacy Icon and then having a CTD issue.

The only thing that seems to work is to play a couple of minutes in another format and then cross your fingers to see if you will crash. (30% no CTD) Gets very frustrating.

I have bought other games from your company and I know they are not as bad as this one.

Do you have any suggestions of other steps in order to get this to work?

My config: Windows XP, Athlon 1.54Ghz, 512MB RAM, 60 GB drive space (40 Avail), Goforce4 Ti4400.

Thanks for checking things out first, before posting.

Not everyone experiances this problem so it has to be something on your system. The problem is we just need to figure out what it is.

Just so I understand the problem, If you start a brand new game under 1.03b, then hit the Diplomacy button the game CTD?

Well, I started another game and now it is having the same error. CTD when I hit the diplomacy icon.

If anyone else is having this problem please post so I know it is not just my system.

I will try moving it to the C drive but I'm not thinking that will make a difference.

Thanks again for the help on this. Its a fun game but I'm just about ready to call it for playing this game.

How big are your save games that exhibet this problem?
I am wondering if it has to do with the expanding save bug.
