Curious Question

Yello... Although I'm sure a question like this has been asked before, I was wondering if there is a possible way to play as the Papacy? Obviously, I wouldn't want to screw up the specific selection of the pope (that's the fun part), but I was wondering if there was a way to control the Papal states, and create a functioning Papal kingdom. I've played CK for a few weeks, and I still consider myself a noob, but my guess would be no, because of all the complexities involved realm administration, the process of excommunication, and the necessity of the independance of the Papacy in the game. However, as a papal history nut, I'd like to see if there is some way I could get hold of the keys of St. Peter. :D

Anyway, I appreciate any help. Thanks!

No, you can't play the Papacy.

You can make it selectable at the start of a scenario. But as Pope you won't be able to create titles, vassals or grant titles. So it will be very boring.

Also each time you want to start a save-game, you will have to add the Papacy as a selectable country at the start-up.
