I use it!

It's the one of Isabel II, I think actual one wasn't done

So, with this game growing old already...Is anything ever going to done about that Stupid Castillian Avatar for Spain till 1819?????
When are we going to get an historic correct Avatar? France and the UK have it...Give us that damn Burgundy Cross finally!

Ebu, Mad King James already made a red burgundy cross and I have it installed. It appears when you 'claim the name Kingdom of Spain'. It's not perfect, I know, but I don't think anyone from Paradox cares about this.

Avatars can only change with a TAG change. The French and the British avatar changes are Huge Events or something like that with 0/1 conditions.

Hmm, I'm quite sure the Spanish used the Burgundy cross on a white base...
To quote Ebusitanus' signature:
"We wish for a Red Burgundy Cross on a Yellow field!"

I guess there is a reason for that...

The yellow was chosen to differenciate Spain's avatar from Burgundy's because it is supposed to be a constant colour in Spanish coats since the Middle Ages (at least in Castile, Aragon and Navarre, poor old Leon is left out as usual;))

Royal Standard of Spain

That's not the Royal Standard, it is the arms of Castile-Leon (BTW, a wrong arms because, as my sig says, the Lion is purple )

Actually, the Royal Standard (JC's) would be this:

Notice the Cross of Burgundy and that Burgundian thingy, the Golden Fleece I think it is called

My heart beats furiosly in anticipation...That would be the greatest thing!:D
The reson for the yellow field is in fact a compromise since we can't discount that in the course of the game Burgundy won't pop up again due to some rebellion and thus having the same Avatar as a Habsburg Spain. We thought about perhaps installing a small shield in the middle of the cross but for ease sake we thought it better to set up a yellow field...That color together with the Red has been a constant color sheme in Spain's banner set up.

I'm actually contemplating redoing it with a white field, but with a more 'spanish' burgundy cross (the really jagged one)

And how are you going to diferentiate on the small city flags and army standards? Those are too small to see the "jaggedness".
