I have the same issue (as pendle witch has stated) and it is definitely annoying. The cursor is hesitant on the move and the hesitation intervals are frequent but freezing moments are less than a second.

I thought this was a GPU issue but, no it was nothing to do with it. I have a double core CPU and yet again i have the problem right in front of me ruining my gaming experience.

Does it have something to do with the 3D cursor, plain cursor, I mean can it be resolved by changing that? (there are no options in the menu for that though.)

How could it be fixed?

I think paradox would have an easyer time to solve your problem if you tell them your sys spec.
Also, make sure you have all the lastes drivers.

First of all look after some new driver to your GeForce Go 7400.
That would probably not help, but a new driver won't hurt. Try it!

Edit: And close all backgrounds programs also.

Check this for the newest drivers.

Try and run in a lower resolution and with 16 bit colur depth.

Have you renamed avi folder to avi.old?

If he have read the sticky, he has :)
The resolution really shouldn't matter, but try it.

Sadly, none of them are usefull.

So what next?

So, just to confirm; no background program is on?
All the drivers is the lastes?
Hmmm... Try to reinstall the game.

yep. drivers are latest and fine
all prg. shut down, including anti virus prg.s
it doesnt effect the cursor when the game is paused. Only on real time, its just like a CPU issue but, i just dont understand???

reinstalling idea makes me nervous as i have upgraded CoA and interface graphics. I will have to do them all over again :(

Ah, the error may be there (dose I sound like a boring support man now? :D ).
Pleas try without moded interface graphics, to see if it's there the error lies.

If the movement hesitations of the mouse cursor coincide with the game advancing from one day to the next, there is really not much you can do.

The cause is the amount of events that have to be checked when the game advances to the next turn (aka game day).

You can check/verify of this is indeed the case by opening the events.txt file, and commenting out all (or most) of the actual event files by placing a '#' in front of each of those lines. (just remember to make a backup first !)

When you've done so, you effectively run the game without any events enabled (which of course is rather boring). If the mouse cursor now moves smoothly, you've identified the cause. ;) In which case there is little you can do, apart from obtaining a much faster CPU, or pruning the events to permanently disable a lot of them.

One other possibility remains to slightly reduce jerkyness (but this will not help the one second freezes), and that is to rename the tiles.bmp file into something else. This will disable the fancy terrain map overlay, but it will speed up the graphics redraw routines that periodically repaint the map.

Thx for the aid. Renaming tiles.bmp and its barely effective. Still better than nothing. I newer liked the terrain map anyway.

As for the big picture, as far as i understand, it is a problem related with everyone not just with me.

So if its like the way you described, everyone should be experiencing the same cursor freezings. Aint anybody is aware of that? or am I the (only) one who is fastidious?

I just dont understand, I have HOI-1&2, doomsday, EU-1&2 (yes i am an hardcore supporter of paradox games) No other games have caused such laggy mouse thing? There are also tons of events happening in EU and HOI or am i wrong? So why that events are just a problem in CK?

Because there are so incredibly many events/object combinations that have to be checked.

And some players are more tolerant (like me) than others. Believe me, you are quite blessed with *only* one second. On my system it's more like two seconds +

But I've learned (albeit reluctantly) to live with it. Also, since my earliest days with EU (yes, the original) I've played on a speed setting of normal or below that. Because running it faster would render the game on my then current system unstable. I've kinda got used to that game speed, and play all titles like that. Running the game at such a relative slow pace counteracts the annoyance of the game turn freezes somewhat. ;)

It's either that, or to prune the events. And that takes away much of the fun in the game.

And besides, one has to put things into perspective. Running civ3 on my system also produces game turns of several seconds to process all the AI stuff. The difference, of course, is that I control when that happens by pushing the <end turn> button. ;)

hmm, nice example.. that civ3 approch just convinced me it is bearable. And 5 starts for your patience "trait" (two seconds wait)
