Hey, I'm sure this has been asked before, but I wasn't sure what keywords to search for. Sorry.

How do we get preview images to show up in the build panel for custom assets (parks, intersections)? Is there documentation for this somewhere?

It's very easy. When you start to create your asset, just after you load the fbx file, scale it then press the back button, press continue and it takes you back to the scale window and your asset will be centered and fill the window.

You can then position it as you like, that will be your thumbnail. Click continue, finish your asset and don.t forget to take a snapshot before you save, that will be your preview pic. (take few if you like, you can then choose the one you want to use in the save window.

Doesn't work for props as you don't get the scale window for them

Hi, I read on somewhere that it is possible, but I haven't tried it.

Quote:
try putting a custom image into the Import folder with the same name as the model, except "_thumb" added (e.g. "model.fbx" can be accompanied by a "model_thumb.png"). I would suggest a resolution of 109x100. You can also try _thumb_hovered, _thumb_disabled, _thumb_focused, _thumb_pressed, but these will be generated if left out.

Hope it works

Unfortunately, neither the automatic nor the manual thumbnail methods currently work for assets without a model. This is now one of the most high priority improvements for us, so it should get better.

Whilst doing this, please either make some more 'empty base templates' to cover the available options.. the current selection don't cover all bases... or expose more of the options for us to change as we see fit..See my lonely thread which may sound like I'm ranting.. but I'm not really.. just typing out thoughts and findings :) I <3 C:S
