Ok, is anyone who has bought the DLC seeing the "barber shop" button on your ruler? Please state whether you have the GamersGate or Steam version.

Oh and if you've bought the DLC and can't get it to work, check if you have these two files in your game folder: dlc/dlc031.dlc and dlc/dlc031.zip.

Hi Doomdark, I've also got this issue. I just checked then and I don't have the 'barber shop' button on my character's information screen/profile, although I do have a greyed-out 'Customize Dynasty' (or whatever it's labelled as) button as described by Wolfmaster1979. I'm running the game without mods, own the game and all DLC on Steam and I do indeed have the dlc031 files. Also, in the main menu I still have the store pop-up stating that the Customizer DLC has been released.

CK2 is all up-to-date (well, Steam seems to think so at least, heh) and I've tried verifying the game cache to no avail.

Hopefully this can all be resolved shortly!

Steam version.
Can't see it.

Checked those two, got them both, but both are 1kb each.

I'm on steam. I have both of those. I'm able to change my dynasty name/shield, but I am unable to access the barber shop or rename my dynasty. There simply isn't a barbershop icon or a renaming option showing up, whereas the dynasty change button on the family tree does show up.

both the files you mention are 1kb though

I do not see the "barber shop" button on my ruler
I am running the Steam verision.
I see both the dlc31 zip & dlc31.dlc, but they both are 1kb.
I have all DLC for the game, no mods running and the game is up to date via steam updates

OK, not sure how this works, but happycats517 in THIS thread is absolutely correct: To fix the issue for the Steam version of the game, you'll need to opt into the Steam client beta. Worked for me, so hopefully it'll resolve it for everyone until there's a more permanent fix. (you can find more detailed instructions on how to do this via the link)

The new DLC that just came out, doesn't work that well. I can only customize the dynasty's. So I can't customize the titles or the characterlooks. They said in the destription that those two things were also possible.

I hope you'll patch that soon

And I'm using the Steam version

Used the same and works now even after opting out of the beta.

Ok. I need the Steam account name (not the Steam social club name or whatever) of one of you who has the issue so that the good folks at Steam can investigate.

this worked for me in the sense it got the barbershop to work, but I haven't worked out how to change my titles or my children/grandchildrens first names yet. Either I can't do so, or it isn't immediately obvious how to do so.

Hi Doomdark,

I have the Steam Verison, and I tried the turning the beta of steam on to get the custmizer to work, and that worked, turned it off and now this morning I checked and the customizer was still there , good job I say , and can;t wait for the hot fix.

The beta definitely isn't working for me, I get CTDs and the Old Gods is gone. Is it supposed to be beta for 1.09? That's what it is for me.

1.09 is an old patch level for Crusader Kings II. Do not use that unless you want to play an older version of CKII.

I am still having this problem. I just got the customization pack dlc and I see both dlc031 files in my dlc folder. The loader shows the customization pack and it is checked. When I start the game, the button to customize is there but it is greyed out and tells me I need to get the dlc.

Can you please help me?

Are you on Steam? Did you do what was suggested above in post #26?

I am on steam, yes. But why do I need to opt into the steam beta for my DLC to work? From my experience, messing with steam usually ends up breaking more things than it fixes. Everything is on automatic update and latest version.

Is there a procedure for me to get this resolved? I would like to be able to use the DLC I paid for or get it refunded if it doesn't work. Do I need to submit a request for support at steam or is this the right location?

You can use it if, just this once, you go through that little step in post #26. Once the issue is resolved you then opt out of that beta, no harm done. As you can see the folks above used that process with no issues whatsoever. It should only take a few minutes.

Refunds would have to come from Steam, yes, since they are who you paid your money to.
