hey, so ive installed DAIM and thought it might give me more of a challenge as Germany. Im mid-1940 and have played the played pretty historically (apart from invading Switzerland) and are allied with the usual suspects.

I have noticed the effects of the improved AI but Italy is sat with 40+ divisions on the Egyptian border facing about 4 British and wont attack!! and my other 'allies' are similarly useless having piled divisions up on the borders to Egypt, Greece and Yugoslavia but staying put.

WHY DONT THEY ATTACK?!!

any ideas? its kinda annoying :s

OK, strange . Somtime the Italian AI does silly attacks and looses till the End of 1940 in Africa but sitting duck is seldom.
What are your scenario setting ( difficulty/agressiveness)?

Hey there Spocky,

Im playing it on Hard/Aggressive cos im quite an experienced player now but yeah they are just sitting there. Not even attempting an attack. Sure ive seen Italy lose a thousand times in Africa but never this. Im wondering whether DAIM has done something to cause this or whether its a random occurance and they're simply not attacking and i have to restart.

Im not overly thrilled with DAIM so far, any answers or help (from anyone) would be muchly appreciated :D

There my be still some flaws with the Italian AI in the last DAIM so maybe its a real problem. Can you email me a zipped save to ?

Greetings

Argh ive played on about 6months since then, do you still want a zipped savegame? i dont have the web at home but yeah i could sort that out.

Incidentally, while Italy just sat there Britain built up strength and eventually attacked them. This pushed them into action and they have now responded. Pushed back and cut off when the British reached Bengazi they are now busy counterattacking and while ive been preparing for Barbarossa its been fun to watch!

Having not been impressed so far, Ive noticed the new AI kick in, ive never faced so many Soviet divisions piled up on my border close to June '41 before!
