Danish version bugs. Someone compiling a list?

Hey!

I just wanted to know if someone is compiling a list of all the bugs in the danish version?

For starters the translation hampers the gameplay, you cant cancel royal marriages, and in my last game, the graphics for 'Cultural center'(?) & 'Shipyard'(?) was mixed around on the city screen.

I realise many of the bugs are already reported, but it would be nice to know if I anyone is compiling a list for the Danish version.

BTW, PLEASE make it optional to play the game in ENGLISH... I really hate translations, because they always suck. Really.

Edit: I just remembered... Something is wrong with the 'Oldenburg' territory of Hannover. It has a population of just 1000 people?! And if the peasents revolt, their army fades straight away off to the lands of attrition?! A bug? (danish version)

Good idea (mine ord de halve)!

One thing is the program bugs and one is the text/translation bugs.

How about one of us started two new threads:
1) Text and translation bugs in DK/Scandinavian version 1.08
2) Program bugs in DK/Scandinavian version 1.08

Then maybe some of all the danes playing the DK version will start reporting two.

Well I dont have the time either, only plays late at night after work - and usually after my wife and kid has gone to bed.
BUT if we want the things (bugs) to be corrected then we need to list them.
I will try to start a thread to night or tomorrow.

The size of oldenburg is not a specific problem with the danish version. It is corrected in the IGC so oldenburg has a population of 10000.

After playing the dansih version a few times with constant crashes, i tried to install the norweigen version to see if there was the same problem. So far i have played virtually without crashes(had 2 in many hours of game play). The transalation is apparantly as bad as the danish version.

I don't want to gloat to much here , but I specifically ordered the english/international version to avoid these problems. EU is not the first screwed up game translation - and I'm sure it won't be the last.

LokeUt, no offense taken.

But the English version dosent have Denmark as a playable major - and since we all to some degree are nationalist (damn Christian IV for weakening our mighty empire), playing as Denmark, beating those pesky swedes is a true pleasure.

On the other hand you might say that the IGC makes all nations playable, and of course you are right - still...

You can download the english translation if you prefer it from our Download section.

Download the english text. You still can play Denmark, and you don't have to use time getting annoyed by the danish translation.

The original poster just asked for an option to play it in english, thats why i posted about the download possibility.

Here it goes.

Most of the “bugs” are translations that cannot fit into the given space, because the term is to long. This results in overlaying text and hence unreadable text.

I will use the following context to specify the Danish text bugs:
Interface area / English term / Danish term (EU) / New suggested Danish term

Budget window:
Raise war taxes / Opkræv krigsskatter / Opkræv krigsskat

Army and navy window:
Monthly maintenance / Månedlig vedligeholdelsesomkostninger / Månedlig veligehold
Furthermore several of the techs is to long to fit (general problem)

Colonisation window:
The starting text (before choosing a province) is English: “Select a legal (green) …”

First - great news about the english translation - I'll try it today !

Italian country "Nepal" - should be "Neapel" - really annoys me when I confuse southern Italy with the Himalayans...
Bug with promotions - "du er blevet forfremmet til XC453 og kan nu tituleres '" (the number is not correct, but it is definately gibberish).
That's all I can think of - let me just suggest, that you drop the danish translation and then sell the game 50 dkr cheaper Seriously very few danes will choose this game based on the translation.

If I DoW without a CB the game chrashes, sometimes even when I have a CB. IA it chrashes when trying to chek some countries (e.g. sending a diplomat), like France (also when I play the country my self. Some of my friends has the same problems. Are there anypne else who expirienced this?

I had problems in the beginning too, but they made this little patch DKfix, and I haven't had problems since. I haven't installed version 1.09, but they say it also fixes danish version problems.
