I didn't find attributes to mark dark and light cultures, and I am not sure but I think I read some time ago that they are hardcoded. Google didn't provide useful links. Could somebody please confirm this?

From my observation the dark cultures are:
- Pecheneg
- Cuman
- Turkish
- Alan
- Abghazian
- Persian
- Muslim
- Mongol

Veld, what provinces are you using the NONE-tag for?

I suspect it might be something different. Concerning the culture of the troop sprite of course. So far I used the NONE-tag for Ests and Livs and wondered why they insist on giving their children Viking names. Now I just noticed that the troop sprite in the province window is Viking, but when I recruit it, the troop sprite on the map is Baltic.

Edit: Just replaced in my savegame norse with none culture; similar effect: the troop sprite in the province window is turkish as Veld said, when recruiting on the map window it changes to baltic. So I think the troop sprites on the map are tied to the region.

I use it for Albanian culture

Have you added characternames for the NONE-culture to db/characternames.csv ?

They should be in this format

Code:
none;female;Maria
none;male;Richard

Also make sure that in all your scenario files you use NONE and not the culture0-name that is visible in the game.
