Darkest Hour Patch 1.01 Hot-fix

In this thread we'll post hot-fixes for patch 1.01 only (make sure you have the game patched successfully to 1.01 before using files posted here).


Change-log:

1. Fixed a problem with freezing of the game on saved games load in Italian, Spanish, German and Polish languages

Install notes:
1. Extract the hot-fix into your game folder overwriting all files when asked to.


Steam users only:
Apparently Steam screwed something with the patch and do not remove obsolete game files one of which is the corrupted SIB shield that cause crash in 1914 scenario.
Here is a hot-fix for that one until we release a patch installer that works for Steam too and does the job right.
Unpack DeleteObsoleteGameFiles.rar into your game folder and run the bat file (double-click should do the job). Make sure you run that as Administrator on Windows Vista/7 if the game is installed into Program Files or other protected by Windows folder.

Many thanks fellas! Was experiencing that problem with a savegame after updating the game (spanish language). I also have to say that I'm very satisfied with this purchase, your game looks so polished that is at least same quality (maybe even better) than paradox originals'. Didn't had such a good experience with other Hoi2-based remakes, will not cite the names here, but very error prone.

The only thing I'd blame on is about content, more scenarios in the full mode will be soooo sweet. Anyway, if you plan to release any expansion, count with this happy customer.

No need. This fix just replaces few strings in non-English language and adds few untranslated lines to French.

Sure we have plans to add more scenarios to Full, but those are planned to come with patches

The hot-fix prevents save-game corruption to happen
To fix an old corrupted save you have to delete messages history from it.

You have to locate the savegame in Darkest Hour\Mods\Darkest Hour Full\scenarios\save games\. Open the big file with an editor like Notepad or Notepad++. Search for "History" (without ") and you'll find the history log. Delete it. Save. Launch the game and load the savegame.

PS: Perhaps it's better to make a backup copy of the savegame before editing it if you are not used to this kind of stuff.

Hey. I just installed the hotfix and when I press the + button on parallel or serial production it adds ten. So I can only build ships/planes/divisions either 1 at a time or 11 at a time with nothing in between. Same with serial, its either 1 in a row or 11 in a row. I did not have this problem with 1.01 before the hotfix.

Check if your CTRL button is not stuck or something like that. CTRL + "+" adds 10 items, SHIFT + "+" adds 5 and SHIFT + CTRL + "+" adds the max (usually this is 99)

This is a significant possibility. Im in the process of reinstalling so I cant check, but since I'm the only one saying anything I think its safe to assume that I'm just an idiot.

I just followed the instructions and deleted the history log too. But that does not work...sadly. Any suggestions? I am a bit upset, because you are very dependent on savegames in a game like darkest hour. And now its corrupted due to patching....I played for days on this particular savegame.....

Sorry, but 1.00 saved games are not compatible with 1.01 patch.
