Hitler planned on defeating the Soviet Union in 6 weeks. Of course things went a bit pear shaped for him but I think I can do better. My theory is that I can defeat the USSR in 4-6 weeks in Hearts of Iron II. Winning with Germany isn't exactly hard, but this may be. Personally I'm more of a naval guy and I'm not to used to running the huge army that this will require. My personal best is a 6 week Barbarossa game so I'll see how it goes. Assuming the Soviets collapse in a 1941 Barbarossa I will still have to deal with England and the USA with virtually no fleet so I'll see how Germany can go on the sea in 1942 onwards as I normally blits the ocean in 39-42 with subs and battlecruisers using Sealane Interdiction.

Goal: Defeat the Soviets in 4 weeks (6 weeks on the outside). Defeat the USN using battlecruisers in 43 or so.

In order to achieve the long term goals of the Reich new ways of managing industry will be needed. One day a new fleet may sail the seas again.

Massive amounts of new industry will also be required. For the next 3 years the economy will be strengthed in case of foreign aggression.

Trades are arranged with sympathetic pro German states. Sweden, Turkey, Italy, Yugoslavia and Venezuela aid the German economic recovery. Despite their ideological difference trade agreements with the USSR for rare materials are also signed.

September the 1st 1939 rolled around and the Poles refused to give into reasonable requests regarding the fate of Danzig. I Swift campaign resulted in their destruction in around 10 days although by then the Panzers were already rushing west. The Kriegsmarine transfered over 30 divisions west to deploy near Holland. Declearing war on Western Europe German panzers dashed through Antwerp and Ghent and cut the Allies in 2. While Rommel, Guderian and Model seized a virtually undefended Paris. Another 40 divisions punch through the Ardenes linking up in Reims while General Himmler leads over 45 divisions (30 militia) from the Siegfried line into the gaps caused by the rapid advance. By the 19th of October 1939 German Panzers have reached Marseilles. Humiliated the Frech sue for peace. Almost forgotten Denmark falls a few days later.
