Just found this issue on my own after reinstalling. I'm not quite sure what has happened or why this is occuring...will try and fix it somehow

got the fix:

In the events.txt file in DHfull > DB

paste this: event = "db\events\dod.txt"

Which version of this game is this intended for? I'm using 1.4 and running into an issue where the game crashes a few seconds into trying to load a scenario. I've tried a full reinstall, and followed the guidance adding the event into the .txt file as shown above.

Sorry it's been so long. Going to take a look at this over the next week.

Interesting issues with Germany, despite me not editing those events. Might be an event I'd conflict.

Either way, should be fixed up with some additions by the 8th.

Broken events as Germany: 1935 Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe formation. Saarland Plebiscite. Coup in Austria.

This is a result of the Kaiser decision I put in. Firstly, if you want these events, I wouldn't use it until later.

Most of these don't fire because Hitler or his Nazi Cabinet are "killed" by my decision. Honestly, with that decision it's at your own risk.

My latest version has been uploaded. This includes France, Austria and Yugoslavia. Along with a tonne of fixes.

This now includes the missing file that stopped the events from firing.

Also now includes an event that removes the French organisation hit that the dev's introduced to ensure they lose the war. You can now successfully wage war as them as you please.

For now, communist Japan, UK and France offer the most interesting playthroughs. Alongside a Tsarist Russia.

Good news.
Any plan for Italy ?

Hi. I have some questions about this mod
1) Does alternatives have new events about domestic and foreign policies in countries? What I mean, for example if Germany became Kaiserreich then they kind should have some kind of alternative plans for Europe then Nazi had. If know old mod for HOi 2 - Mod 33, there was many events for different countries event if they choose switch from historical outcome.
2 Does Ai have abililty to use decisions to switch from historical outcomes? In other words if I am playing Commie France to I have a chance to witness Kaiser Germany and Fascist Russia in my game?
3) Any kind of surrender events implemented for alternative political regimes in countries? For example if Fascist France defeat Kaiser Germany.
4) Any plans for USA?

Hasn't been the top priority, but it will be given the communist and democrat treatment. Possibly a chance to create its own axis, which is something I do every time I play anyway (cheaply allying Nat. Spain by declaring war on Rep. Spain)

1) You can choose new foreign policies in terms of new allies, which can usually drag you into a war or give you an entirely new reason to make one. As for creating an ahistorical event for war, well, I haven't gone that deeply. Kaiser led Germany already has some issues I need to address, but if you want war it is something you'll have to bring about yourself for your own reasons.

2) The AI cannot. I'd welcome someone wanting to try and make that happen, along with the above, but it would take a bucket load of more events. My reasoning is that it would create quite a huge mess...For example, if the Soviets change into Russia then the entire events for the German invasion are gone. The AI will just sit there, whereas the player will take some initiative.

3) Again, nothing yet. It's in your hands.

4) Eventually. It will probably consist of a communist or fascist USA, the choice to gain some cores on Canada/Mexico. Being able to ally with the Soviets/Germans/Japanese. All deeply ahistorical and unrealistic, but there for the player to have fun with if they want.

will in the future be events for the US?

Eventually. See above!

I'll wait until 1939 or 1940 to replace Hitler with the Kaiser.

That should work perfectly. I will do more work on Germany, perhaps adding replacement events. Many rely on Hitler being in power.

Alliance alternatives would be good too. So we could have multiple governments, but lets say you are a usual Soviet Union. You could try to maintian your block, ally Nat. China, ally any rising communist power (maybe the Brits), or unlikely, but interesting options like the Third Reich. https://www.alternatehistory.com/fo...vipers-a-tl-of-the-berlin-moscow-axis.457464/ (This is a great alternate history path for it.)
