I was having no problems playing on my old machine with XP.

I just bought a new one and am running Vista Home Premium now and have problems. I brought my save games over and my games (regardless of country) all crash at the end of the month regardless of which.

I tried starting a new 1936 game and the same thing..CTD at end of month :(

Any help would be appreciated! :)

Running 1.3a

i don't understand why, but i have gotten around some of my vista problems by running all installs as administrator - i right click on the execute files and select run as administrator

no idea if this will actually help, but the best i can do.

In Vista you should.

1. Never install the game/application in the default folder... Try to install it in a place like c:\games\dd

You should always stive to have a different partition/Hard disk for your games/applications and leave the main drive for your OS. That way if your OS goes fubar then you at least have your data intact and can just reinstall/repair the OS without danger.

2. Turn off UAC. It causes more headaches than it is worth.

Here is how to do that

In your case i would recommend a reinstall. I have Vista and i do not experience any crashes.

And to comment on the run as administrator option. If you only have one account in Vista then it automatically is the administrator.... no need to set to run as admin.

If you have more than one account then use the admin account to install the game and switch back to the user account when done.
