Ok, so my game as USSR can't go further than 21. november 1941 11:00, after that the game hangs up. Music stays on, but the mouse won't move, etc. I have tried it a couple of times, even with different actions; always a hangup at that exact moment.

I tried to get past the problem by loading a save game from the 19th day, but that crashed even earlier.

The version is 1.1. And If I know anything about game crashes, seems like this is tied to a certain event which cannot fire due a missing file or something like that. Any ideas? (yeah, I could post the savegame, though they are pretty large. But this might not be specific to that save)

I did some testing. Loading the game as a different nation does not help.
NT compability mode does not help. I even loaded up the save in a different computer, no help. Still crashes.

The savegame can be found here

Same kind of thing for me. I played a couple of hours yesterday and everything was fine. But today, my game crash on april 7th 1944. I tried to restart my computer and to repair HOI DD, but it was useless. My game is with the soviets too, by the way.

If you have what you think is a bug, and have a savegame with which you can reproduce the problem, then please follow thwe stickied instructions on how to submit it as a bug report. Include step by step instructions on what one must do after loading the save game to reproduce the problem. Thank you.

The only thing you can do is look at the events that might fire on that date, then figure out what in the save file is conflicting with that or comment the event out.

Well that wouldn't be too easy, wouldn't it. It would be nice to see in the console what events are firing / about to fire.

Well you asked for ideas so I gave you the only one that would work.

Yeah, and I thank you for that. But I don't even know where to start, because the game hangs up even if I load it as a different nation.

And aren't pretty much all of the events based on a random number, and the seed number stays the same when I load the game? I mean, there is nothing set to happen at that particular moment in every game. Heck, it might be even something weird happening in (for example) Australia-Paraguay relations which I'm completely unaware of, thus unable to do anything :/

Check your history.txt in the mainfolder.

1941-10-20 : 5:00 November 21, 1941 : We have started bombing enemy forces in Kars.
1941-10-20 : 6:00 November 21, 1941 : We are attacked by hostile airplanes of Germany above Kiev.
1941-10-20 : 6:00 November 21, 1941 : Our troops in Gomel are being bombed by Romania.
1941-10-20 : 7:00 November 21, 1941 : 38ya Korpus has arrived in Hilla.
1941-10-20 : 8:00 November 21, 1941 : We have started bombing enemy forces in Mosul.
1941-10-20 : 8:00 November 21, 1941 : We won a battle against Germany in the skies above Kiev

Does not help much :/

I would appreciate if someone downloaded and tried the savegame, so that I could be sure that my two "pretty similar" computers weren't the issue. Just load the game and let it roll for a day (a game day, that is :) )

Strange.. by loading the game as US I was able to play a bit longer, then saved and reloaded as USSR, and after about a day the game hangs.

This is driving me nuts :/ Starting a new game won't help, because what guarantees that this does not happen again? Thus the game is pretty much unplayable now.

Reproducible crashes should be reported following the instructions in the sticky thread, As I mentioned I have nothing to do with bugs or fixing them so reporting it to me does not help solve the problem.

I've mailed it as a bug report. I would just like to get some user experiences from here.

So please, test the save and report here.

I exeprienced the same thing playing as Germany. Always game freezed at 21:00, august 21th, 1942. So I loaded my previous saved game (some days before) as USA, I passed that date and I saved the game, then I loaded that game as Germany: game always freezed at 9:00, august 22th, 1942. As last test, I loaded my autosaved game on 1st august, I saved again on 6th august and now when I load this game, it always freezes at 9:00, august 6th 1942. For the moment I can't post my saved game because I'm waiting an ADSL line at home

Once again it does no good to report it here since I have nothing to do with bugs.
You can still report the bug without submitting the save, just give as many details as possible.
