I think I figured it out!!!

After talking to several intelligent people and finding no solution a stupid person spoke up and said could it be in that registry thing. I dropped back to a previous registry and poof the problem was gone. The moral of this story excapes me but it may not excape you if, this is your problem as well.
 
It make a lot of sense If you had installed something that was interfering with DX.
 
Yup. Installing a new video driver without first reverting back to the default VGA driver has been known to cause these kinds of problems, for example.
