DDRAW.DLL not found?!

Ok, I was playing EU one night. The next night, I wanted to play again, but I get this message that "DDRAW.DLL not found". I think to myself, ok I'll just re-install. That always works.

Well guess what. I've reinstalled the game 4 times now and I'm beating my head against a wall.

Can anybody help me out here?

I have the 1.10 english Benelux version...

I don't think my comp specs really matter here, something is wrong with the game itself.

DDRAW.DLL is not part of EU, it is a Windows system file. I have it on my win2k box here at work and EU has never been installed on it. You need to get it off your Win OS CD or from a PC with the same version of Windows on it.

I don't think my comp specs really matter here, something is wrong with the game itself.

Unless I'm mistaken, it is a DirectX problem. Reinstall the latest Direct X and it should solve your problem.

Hmm... That install of Direct X 8 may have done it. Blast... And I had a good game going before I went and deleted everything!!

Well thanks folks, you just saved me alot of trouble, and saved the wall from a bigger dent!

(now I can get some advil for this monstrous headache...)
