Kurt_Steiner: And I'm glad he fell. We don't like Sodomites in the kingdom of Jerusalem.

JimboIX: Insane people are always interesting. So I'll write as many to story as I can.

EvilSanta: He is a great warrior and you will see it in the next update, but he isn't really a people's person.

bowl of soup: Both of them were vassals of my vassals, before they declared independence and I needed to conquer them back so that I could create Arabia.

J. Passepartout: I was disapointed to him. Guy revolted against his own wife. After all I did to him.

So there was no obvious reason why they would do that? And of course like any good shepherd you had to bring them back into the fold, even if it would kill them ;)

Not any I know. I wasn't in war against anyone at the moment and neither were my vassals. Also I granted land to these people only after war had ended, so the bug didn't cause them to declare independence. They did that at the same time and without game notifying me or anything. I just noticed from the map that they had broken free.

He certainly looks like he has all the attributes that a Crusading King needs.

Sorry for not updating for a while. I have been busy. I finally got tired to the trial versions of Paint Shop Pro and Photoshop, so I downloaded GIMP. Now I have to figure out how to use it, so that I can edit pictures for the next update. I'll try to update either today or tomorrow.

1106-1109

1106: Nothing important happened this year.

Abdul-Hamid.jpg

Servant of Satan

1107: we learned the identity of the wretched youth, who had escaped our wrath to the Arabia Felix. He was called Abdul-Hamid Yousif. We learned that he had returned from his exile and now ruled Emirate of Damascus. But he was so wicked and wretched man that even the heathen Turk hated him and exiled him from the city of Damascus. Turk divided his lands into two. In the north he ruled area near Tripoli and in the south he ruled Syria. Our spies claimed that he was in Syria and so we gathered our troops and conquered the land, just to find out that he wasn't there. With the help of the Devil he had decieved our spies and while our armies marched through the Syrian desert, his servant sieged and conquered Beirut. They killed all the Christian widows and orphans and burned down the churches and monasteries.

Leo of Antioch

When king Frédérick heard about this he angered greatly and started forced march to Lebanon. He wasn't only good Christian prince who was greatly angered by this atrocity. When Leo Komnenos Prince of Antioch heard about this he gathered his armies and marched against the pagans. Together these two lords soon crushed Abdul-Hamid's armies. But yet again this wretched man escaped the justice. This time, because way south was blocked he escaped northwards to the mountains of Armenia. King Frédéric had to keep close eye on the Turk and he couldn't leave his realm, so he negotiated with Prince Leo and together they agreed that Leo would go after the youth, while Frédérick would guard the Holy Land. Leo conquered the few fortresses youth had in the mountains, but didn't found the Youth anywhere. Both Leo and Frédérick promised great reward for the head of Abdul-Hamid.

Sybil and Geoffroy

1108: We received petition for Dirk duke of Friesland. He asked that we would liberate him from the feudal obligations. Frédérick accepted this proposal, because he couldn't fill his obligations as a lord and offer necessary protection to Friesland because of long distance. We held great victory ceremony together with Prince Leo at Tripoli and to unify our two Christian realms prince Leopold of Jerusalem married princess Theophano of Antioch. At April we celebrated second weddings when princess Sybil married Geoffroy de Milly one of the king's most important knights.

Robert and Theodora

1109: Holy Father called a crusade to liberate Tunis from the heathen hands, but because of our sins time wasn't right for such enterprise and reluctantly he called off the crusade later same year. Meanwhile our glorious king continued to remain good relations with the other Christian princes. He married his second son Robert to princess Theodora of Cyprus.

The heathens always produce children of that caliber in game. Glad to see a fresh update, keep up the good work.

stnylan: Frédérick have every necessary skill to became a great crusader king, unless the Turk decides to invade at the wrong moment. :)

J. Passepartout: It's a good thing that I took care of him while he was still young.

JimboIX: Time goes faster during the summer that I imagined. But I'll try to be more frequent at the autumn.

In the future I plan to inherit Antioch and Cyprus from the Greeks and hope that Lower Lorraine would declare independence. Maybe North Africa could offer chance for expansion, because Turk prevents expansion to the east and I need more manpower to be able to defeat them.

Time to conquer Egypt, perhaps?

It might be only reasonable alternative. There's also some possibility of small expansion in Aleppo.

I was thinking more into replaying Amalric I's attempt but with a twist: winning this time bearing in mind there is no Nur-ad-Din at all :D
