Quite the harsh criticism. What do you guys think?

Paradox publishing has always been like that. They finance a game, the game flops, it gets abandoned.

I used to follow Bellular on his WOW channel, the man releases like 3/videos a week, mostly clickbait to get money via his sponsors. Unsubbed ages ago because of how unethical/boring his content spam is.

I find especially the comparisons with Hooded Horse a sign of just plain ignorance. Hooded Horse's games that are succesful were signed already late in their development. Thats a lot easier than financing the whole development from pitch to release. The financial rewards are also a lot smaller.

Publishing a whole development cycle with external studios is a bit of a gamble. But sometimes this will produce a hit. You just dont know ex ante which of the games you sign is really going to come together.

You could just bring it down to "why don't you only make good games?". If it only were so easy.

Also my experience with him.

It is always the same treadmill with him. Before the expansion he hypes it up into unreasonable expectations and than right after he is disappointed af. The Clickbaitiness of his vids also turnde me off.

Still there is probably something to learn from the ST:I Disaster and reasonable criticism is always a good thing.

Paradox deserve the strongest possible criticism that you can give to a game development company over Infinite.

The only thing they could have done worse is what they did with lamplighters league.
