Summary

Deadlock situation: If a "capital attack" is the last thing you can do within the current turn, the player has no possibiliy to end the turn without doing so.

Expected Result

Forcing "end turn" possibilty or "skip action for this turn" also for capital`s attack, similar as done for units.

Actual Result

I cannot continue my play because I will not attack the merchant because an allied nation declaered war to the merchant's nation.

Steps to reproduce

The situation is as simple as decribed.

Build Number

1.022094.F

Hi there,
We took a look at this bug and looks like there is no bug actually. The situation where you would have but not want to use your capital attack is actually really rare, but definitely annoying if that situation happens to you but for now, this is working as intended so we are closing this but will take a look at this further with design teams. Thanks!

If I would be in such a situation, I would find that extremely annoying, too. So far, the situation described here could never happen to me since I never do alliances with AIs.

Besides - have you considered to change the order of things? I find it quite annoying that the capital attacks are on the bottom of the list. Imho they should be on the top of the list.
  1. First of all, I want to do those capital attacks before I use my units (and I want to be through with all the fighting before I decide what I want to repair or improve on the terrain, and before I decide what to build in my cities).
  2. Second, it would let you go through all direct trouble you have at the beginning of the turn so that you would get an overview.
  3. And third, it should solve the problem of this ticket since the descriptions says that the problem only occurs when a capital's attack is the last action of a turn.
Would there be there any drawbacks?

Allowing some way of "forced end turn" might provide workarounds for multiple issues related with the game prompting an action the player doesn't want to or can't perform. In current state, such situation simply locks the game.
