I've run into a problem with a game coming to a stalemate because all the major kingdoms and duchies have their demesne spread across such a vast area.
Taking the most extreme example of Hungary in my game they had a province on the west coast of africa, three provinces on the very eastern edge of the map, two in crimea and a couple of their core provinces. Occupying and holding these provinces to force an unconditional peace is next to impossible, especially for the ai, so Hungary ends up in wars that last forever and only lead to white peaces or at the most some claims given up in the end.
Using the same conditions as those events that occur when a province in your demesne is too far I am thinking of adding an event that looks something like this:
A distant province demands local leadership!
-Give in to demands
Lose 25 prestige
A new dynasty is created and installed as your vassal in x
-I will set up a vassal of my own
A courtier is installed as count of x
Peasant, Burgher, Clergy and Nobility loyalty -0.50
50% revolt occurs in x
-No, these are MY lands
Peasant, Burgher, Clergy and Nobility loyalty -0.50
25% No effect
50% Revolt occurs in x
25% One of your provinces has declared independence
Does anyone have a solution how I can get that last effect to trigger (a province becomes an independent county, a new ruler from a new dynasty created, former ruler receives a claim on the county), it must be the same effect that happens if rebels occupy a territory long enough but I can't really figure out how this works.
This should take care of those widespread demesnes over time leading to them either becoming independent or vassals.
