Do you want to play in DEG? New player FAQ
Everyone gets one chance to prove they are worthy to play in the DEG series of games. The first test to judge wether you are a compatible player would be to answer the following questions in your application:
Do you have ICQ? If not get it.
Have you read this post carefully? If not, do it or don't ask to play.
What are your playing experience? Doesn't really matter excpet for nation placement. As long as you are polite and dedicated you are welcome.
What connection are you on? My hosting capacity allows most connections to play but we like to know.
What timezone are you on? Can you play 18.00-23.00 regularly?
Co operation
In case there are more than one player to a nation to original player functions as the Commander in chief and delegates forces/tasks/missions to the additional player as he sees fit. Trade deals may only be broken by the CoC for technical reasons since there is a potential bug here.
Victory conditions:
As always in DEG we play to have fun and explore the balance of the game to contribute to the MP community.
The game is intended to be basically Allies vs Axis, historical WWII.
victory will be awarded the side that makes the best effort by votation or GM rule.
Surviving into 1945 or eliminating an allied major, UK, US or the USSR, would go a long way towards constituting an axis victory.
The game is NOT supposed to end once the axis first wave of easy conquests ends and the allies start to counter attack. Rome, Berlin and Tokyo should be visited before the next game starts over. What Axis team can set the record for holding out the longest?
Key points:
London
Gibraltar
Suez
Paris
Leningrad
Moscow
Stalingrad
Vladivostok
Singapore
Pearl Harbour
Houserules:
The US may not go to war before 1942 unless the Monroe Doctrine is breached (Axis DOW in the Americas) or when Japan is at war with a Western power.
No unhistorical alliances are allowed. All axis may ally whenever they choose to. China must remain unaligned
Humans may not influence other humans
Allies and the SU aren't allowed to break at start Trade agreements with Axis humans unless at war or through events (US oil embargo) or if the efficiency is lower than 100 %
Allies and the SU aren't allowed to trade for resources (exeption supplies and money) they already have a surplus of
The US can only supply UK and the USSR with resources after the recipeints are in a major war
Speed will be adjusted to the situation, pausing is allowed but shouldn't be abused.
No nukes before 1945
Balanced builds; Don't build only one thing and go for broke if that strategy fails. This is especially important in a 1936 campaign
No tech sharing (except within the CW) unless the alliance is at war
The Allies may not fill France with 300 divisions or so before the outbreak of war. A historical BEF force of around 10 divisions is allowed in Benelux.
Please feel free to come with suggestions for more House rules
I reserve the righ to introduce new ones as the campaign evolves if needed
